The Allied Federation is one of the many federations that make up the Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Employes Division, International Brotherhood of Teamsters. The Allied Federation represents over 7000 men and women who maintain the tracks, bridges, buildings and right of way for the CSX Railroad, the Evansville Western Railway, the Appalachian & Ohio Railway, the Union Pacific Railroad, the Kansas City Southern Railroad, Louisiana & Arkansas Railroad, Milwaukee Joint Agency, the Port Terminal Railroad Association, Burlington, Northern & Santa Fe Railroad, New Orleans Public Belt Railroad, Louisiana & Northwest Railroad, and the Texas Mexican Railway. The Allied Federation was formed through the merging of eight former federations and represents members who work in 27 states, the District of Columbia and Ontario, Canada. The Allied Federation has offices in Hendersonville, Tennessee, a suburb of Nashville, and maintains seventeen satellite offices in Tennessee, Illinois, West Virginia, Georgia, South Carolina, Florida, Pennsylvania, Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, Arkansas, Texas and Oklahoma. .
The Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Employes Union was established in 1887 and affiliated with the International Brotherhood of Teamsters on December 8, 2004 to become the Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Division. The national headquarters are in Southfield, Michigan and Washington, DC.
